Organizing civic participation is a complex task, but in urban planning processes it often provides practical solutions and certainly a greater identification with the measures decided upon and with the own neighborhood. It supports both the upgrading of existing districts and redevelopments, and the building of new districts. In Freiburg also, civic participation helped to create social sustainability.
