Reaching a better energy efficiency first of all means to invest into better technology. The capital to invest in techniques and measures is not always available. For this problem, energy performance contracting is a solution: Calculate the savings and the necessary investment, which will be financed by an investor who therefore shares then the profits of the saved energy. This can be done in different ways by different investors – either by investors or through citizen participation or by energy companies, which are increasingly discovering this business for themselves.
