We also offer guided tours in areas that are not (yet) green: in the west of Freiburg, in the districts Haslach and Weingarten, there is a lot going on. Haslach is an old district where hundreds of new apartments are currently being built, and mobility and the quality of public spaces is a hotly discussed topic. Weingarten, which was built from scratch in the 1960s, has recently undergone a complete redevelopment, and a lot has been done to improve the social structure, social relations and meeting places in the neighbourhood. It is home to the world's first high-rise building renovated to passive house standard. Citizen participation was intensive and successful in both neighbourhoods.
